Welcome! Like its creator, this blog wears many hats to serve several purposes. Firstly, it is dedicated to the personal and professional development of EFL teachers, and that also includes those of the TEFL, ESL, and TESOL persuasion, if not all teachers in general. Secondly, it aims to support arts and humanistic based teaching ideology. Thirdly, its goal is to bridge the gap between EFL methodology and educational psychology. Lastly, this blog hosts the views and opinions of Jay Schwartz and contributing colleagues.
Who is Jay Schwartz? That’s me, the aforementioned hat wearer. I’m based in Greece though I am originally from the United States. I am a free-lance writer, teacher trainer, teacher (of course!), EFL materials developer, education consultant, and director of ELTzone Network. I’ve written and contributed to many published teaching texts over the years, and have also delivered many methodology seminars for publishers, as well as on the behalf of my own organization.
ELTzone was established back in 2005. It’s mission, like that of this blog/website, is to support the activities of and cooperation among education related professionals who yearn to improve not only the quality of their services and respective professions, but also the quality of life for individuals.
Thanks for reading and hopefully participating! I value your comments and suggestions, and sincerely hope your experience here, as we grow in content, will be personally and professionally rewarding.
